Season on Bjelašnica could start earlier

The ski season on Bjelašnica, this year should begin earlier. ZOI’84’s director Nevres Alispahić, who points out that all the work on the tracks and overhaul of ski lifts are ending, and that they are just waiting for lower temperatures, so that they can have artificial snow on the trails, confirms this.

– We did everything to move the season to the very beginning of December. The deficiencies in the accumulation, with two snow cannons that had been problematic last year, are corrected. On our part, we are completely ready, the rest is up to the weather – he said for Faktor.

Artificial snow can be made at temperatures of four degrees Celsius and below, and Alispahić states that cannons can completely cover with snow about 174,000 square meters. In order to make the six-seater less crowded, this year again, a two-seater, which has not been in use for years, should again start working.

– The two-seater was restarted after two years. It was released for trial work, now we need to carry out a test so that we can officially release it in commercial use – said Alispahić.
According to him, this company is also working to improve the catering offer, and the Beneton facility is expanding.

– The procedure for expansion of Beneton is in progress, and whether everything will be completed by the beginning of the season, I do not know, because we are hampered by the fact that all procedures have to be followed because it is a public company. At the interstate between the four-seater and the six-seater, we have a hut in which visitors can refresh and relax, and we also finished the restoration of the restaurant on Igman, in Malo polje – he said.

This season as well, the youngest will be able to enjoy the tubing track and the ski school. ZOI’84 published a new price list for this season, and the daily pass will be five convertible marks more expensive, meaning it will cost 35 convertible marks for adults and 25 for children. Season tickets are cheaper than last year and will cost 700 convertible marks, and for children up to 15 years 350.

On the occasion of the opening of the winter tourist season and the 35th anniversary of the ZOI’84, the legendary music group Bijelo Dugme will hold a concert on Bjelašnica on December 29, Tourist Board of the Sarajevo Canton confirmed. For all lovers of Bijelo dugme, the New Year’s celebration will happen two days before, when they will perform at the Olympic beauty Bjelašnici.

Many hits will be performed by Alen Islamović, Mladen Vojčić Tifa, and Goran Bregović Brega with the orchestra. The sponsors of this concert are ZOI’84 and the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board. The program starts at 16.00 hours when DJs will warm up the audience . The concert is named ‘Hajdemo u planine’ (Let’s go to the mountains) after a song that was used as a promotional song by ZOI’84 in 1986.
