From year to year, Bosnia and Herzegovina grows into a serious and one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. This is certainly contributed by the rich history of our country, interesting cultural and historical monuments, enormous natural resources – a large number of mountains, rivers and lakes, but also excellent hospitality, which is widely known about Bosnians and Herzegovinians.
The International Tourism Fair that is being held in Sarajevo for years has given a major contribution to the promotion of our tourism, culture and tradition. However, in recent years, the fair has gone down the road, and last year it was not even organized.
This year, organizers say that the fair, but also the cultural and sports center Skenderija, where the fair will be held, will be given back the old glow.
The traditional Sarajevo Tourism Festival, which dates back to 1970, will be held from 19th to 21st of October in Skenderija. During the festival, the 39th International Tourism and Tourism Exchange and the 6th International Hotel and Catering Equipment and Catering Fair will be organized.
The sponsor is the Federal Ministry of Tourism and the Environment, and the support of the city of Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Canton community is also expected.
In the first discussions regarding the organization of the Festival in the organizing committee were representatives of all ministries at all levels of government, among others the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade.
– The opening of the festival is planned for October 18th in the evening at Dom Mladih. All three days the Fair will be places in Dom Mladih and on the central theater stage, where cultural and art associations will present themselves, with the aim of presenting our tourism, culture and tradition. The International Tourism Fair will be open from 10 am to 7 pm – explains Skenderija director Amer Kapo.
According to him, applications for participation in the Fair are ongoing, so the number of participants cannot be confirmed yet.
– Our predictions are that more than a hundred exhibitors will participate. India is our country partner, and apart from having its own booth, it will organize an appropriate program. For October 19 in Dom Mladih, a screening of an Indian film for the audience in Sarajevo is planned. Applications come from all over B&H, tourist agencies, municipalities. The focus of the Fair is on the tourist potentials of Bosnia and Herzegovina – says Kapo.
